Services

Custom web application development, end to end

Four services that cover the whole journey — from the first conversation about what you actually need, through to a launched application that keeps getting better.

01 — Web Applications

Bespoke web applications

Off-the-shelf software makes you work its way. A custom application works yours — which is the entire point of building one.

We design and engineer applications around your real processes, your real users and your real constraints. No forcing a square process through a round template.

  • Customer portals — self-service areas that cut your support load
  • SaaS products — multi-tenant platforms with accounts, billing and roles
  • Booking & quoting systems — the operational core of a service business
  • Dashboards — the numbers that matter, without the spreadsheet ritual

02 — Tools & Automation

Custom tools and workflow automation

Most businesses have a job that eats hours every week and shouldn't. A spreadsheet passed between three people. A copy-paste between two systems that don't talk.

We build the tool that removes it — and connect the systems that should have been connected years ago.

  • Internal admin tools — built for the handful of people who live in them daily
  • Process automation — turning multi-step manual jobs into one reviewed action
  • API integration — making your existing tools finally talk to each other
  • Data migration — getting years of history out of the thing you're replacing

03 — UI / UX Design

Interface and experience design

An application that's powerful but confusing gets abandoned. We design interfaces that explain themselves — where the next action is obvious and the edge cases were thought about before anyone wrote code.

  • User flows & wireframes — structure agreed before pixels are polished
  • Interface design — distinctive, on-brand, and quietly easy to use
  • Design systems — components that keep everything consistent as you grow
  • Accessibility — built in from the start, not bolted on after an audit

04 — Support & Iteration

We don't disappear at launch

The most valuable things you learn about an application arrive in the first three months of real use. Plenty of studios have moved on by then.

We stay — fixing, refining and extending as your users show you what actually matters.

  • Warranty period — anything not working as agreed is fixed free
  • Maintenance & monitoring — dependencies patched, uptime watched
  • Feature development — a retained block of time each month, if useful
  • Performance audits — keeping it fast as the data grows

The stack

Chosen to fit the problem

We don't force every project through the same tools. These are what we reach for most often.

Front end

  • TypeScript & JavaScript
  • React / Next.js
  • Modern CSS
  • Vanilla where it's lighter

Back end

  • Node.js
  • Python
  • REST & GraphQL APIs
  • Authentication & roles

Data

  • PostgreSQL
  • MySQL / MariaDB
  • Redis caching
  • Migrations & backups

Infrastructure

  • Managed hosting
  • CI / CD pipelines
  • Monitoring & alerts
  • SSL & hardening

Working together

Three ways to engage

Pick the shape that suits the work. We'll tell you honestly if you've picked the wrong one.

Fixed-scope project

Defined deliverables, a fixed price and a fixed date. Best when you know what you need and want cost certainty.

  • Scoped before commitment
  • Fixed quote, no surprises
  • Staged payments

Retained partnership

A recurring block of design and development time each month. Best for products that keep evolving.

  • Predictable monthly cost
  • Priority scheduling
  • Roll unused time forward

Discovery sprint

A short, paid piece of work that turns a vague idea into a costed, designed plan you own — whoever builds it.

  • Two to three weeks
  • Wireframes and technical plan
  • Credited if you go ahead

Questions

Frequently asked

It depends entirely on scope, but we work to three broad bands. A focused tool or single-workflow app typically starts in the low thousands. A full product build with accounts, payments and an admin area sits considerably higher. Rather than quote blind, we scope properly first and give you a fixed figure before any commitment.

A small tool can be designed and shipped in three to four weeks. A mid-sized application usually runs eight to twelve weeks. Larger platforms are delivered in phases so you get something usable early rather than waiting months for everything at once.

Yes, and we mean it. Personal projects get the same design care and engineering discipline as commercial ones, scoped to a budget that makes sense for the work. If your idea is smaller than our usual commercial engagement, that is not a problem.

We choose the stack to fit the problem rather than forcing every project through the same tools. In practice that usually means modern JavaScript and TypeScript on the front end, a Node or Python backend, a relational database, and hosting on infrastructure that suits your scale and budget.

You do. On final payment, full ownership of the source code, the design files and any associated assets transfers to you. There is no licensing arrangement and no lock-in that forces you to keep working with us.

Yes. Every build includes a warranty period where we fix anything that is not working as agreed at no cost. Beyond that we offer ongoing support arrangements covering maintenance, monitoring and continued feature development.

Not sure which service you need?

Describe the problem rather than the solution. We'll tell you what we'd actually recommend — even when that's less work for us.
